We had a dedication of Emily (Kevin and Jodi’s daughter).  A few extras were there with grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and great grandparents.  We focused on how The Local offers an alternative community that demonstrates life under the kingship of Jesus.  The Shema in Deuteronomy does not allow Emily’s parents or her spiritual family to live compartmentalised lives, but rather lives that demonstrate the unity of the Triune God.  It was great to see Kevin’s and Jodi’s families, who don’t belong to The Local interacting with “the locals”.
