We now have less than two weeks to go.? That’s getting scary.? As you know a lot has happened in the life of our church over the past few weeks, so we’re really thankful to everyone who has encouraged us and posted a comment on the blog recently.
We’ve also got a pretty busy week or so coming up with the Total Church conference starting in a couple of days, and three people staying with us from Australia.? If I don’t get to blog too much then that’s the reason.? I’ve decided to keep the blog going after I get home because it will be a good check on my life to see if we are going ahead with the things we had said we would do upon our return.

A reflection for you… FWIW
I was speaking at a Forge conference in Tas last week and was asked ‘what one thing I would do differently if I had my time over’
The more I thought about it the more I felt I would (as much as its possible in tiny Perth) be less visible and try to stay under the radar.
The pressure to perform and succeed that visibility brings is quite a corrupting factor for anyone starting out. I’m sure you will feel it!
So, I guess I’m saying think carefully about having a blog or doing any speaking about what you are ‘doing’ for a while.
It has been very much a double edged sword for me.
I feel too entangled at the moment to break free, but if I were 5 years back, I would desperately try to resist making myself visible (and my ego demons would fight me every step of the way!)
I enjoy your blog, but if you need to stop for a while don’t apologise

Hi Hamo
That is worth a lot actually. It sounds like good advice to me. I’m going to have to think long and hard about what you said. My problem is exactly what you identified – I just want to blaze a trail, when perhaps I should be just chipping away at stuff and letting God blaze his trail! Looking forward to seeing you when we get back
