Just spent an hour in the British Library admiring their collection of manuscripts and illuminated texts from down the centuries.? My personal favourites?? A libretto from the first performance of Handel’s Messiah, with the names of the first performers written in; two of the four extant copies of the Magna Carta; the first compendium of Shakespeare’s works (1613), and a beautifully illustrated Ethiopian version of the gospels from the 16th century.? Oh – and the scribbled words to several Beatles songs including A Hard Day’s Night, Help and Norwegian Wood.?

Off to Dallas on Friday morning (and London tomorrow to get there),so won’t be blogging for a couple of days.? I’ll be visiting? Mark Moore, Acts 29 network European Director, who is coming to live in Sheffield next year.?
I want to check out what they do with church planting in the ‘burbs rather than inner city stuff.? I’ve met Mark a few times and we’ve hit it off well.? Looking forward to spending the time with him and his family. I’ll probably post a few blogs while I’m over there
if not – watch this space because there will be plenty to say when I get back
