The question has been raised a lot – often by me or Jill in relation to Sophie – what do we do as a church planting couple when there are very few other children to do the Sunday School thing?? We’re obviously going to try a few things in our meetings, but the best, most challenging, and most encouraging advice came from Hamo back in Perth.? You can check it out here
His post punched me between the eyeballs with its honesty, sincerity, and integrity.

That is a great post. My question related to this is what do you do with the kids in the meetings not so they can learn/teach/be involved but so parents can?

Yeah I think that is an issue. Jill struggles to be in the meeting, not so much because Sophie is disruptive, but mostly because it’s held at Sophie’s bedtime. During holidays is fine, but not so much during term time. One of our congregations that i visited had about five kids and a congregation member was assigned the task of teaching them in an age appropriate way. That DOES require some creative thinking, dedication and a good deal of work.
