Everyone hears about me ad nauseum: what about Jill I hear you say? (yes, shut up and let Jill get a word in – Ed). The fact is I’ve pleaded and pleaded with her to blog but she just hasn’t or won’t.? So i thought I’d let you know what she’s been up to.? Here are some pix:

? Jill has just finished proof-reading the latest book by the Somali ? group she works for, and they just had their book launch, well organised by Jill.? She put a lot of effort into it with her friend and boss, Amina, who edited the book.? It’s a great read, all about the travails and travels of two young asylum seeker women as they made their way through Somalia and on towards safety.? ?

Jill’s also helping some younger Somali girls who have grown up in the West, set up a newsmagazine that features articles dealing with the issues that are close to their hearts as young women living in the UK.? She’s got great rapport with them, and they’re going to be travelling to London to speak to more magazine staff down there.

All in all it’s been a busy time for Jill, not to mention the fact that we have a new congregation up and running.? This time round her pregnancy has made her feel far more ill than last time, so she would value your prayers.? I’m very proud of her.?

Between Youtube and me we managed to make Steve and Tim look like zombie extras from 28 Days/Weeks Later . I wonder if there is a way to ensure that the first shot of the ? embedded vid is more flattering.

Here’s Tim Chester’s take on his book with Steve Timmis, Total Church. We started the interview just as a Sheffield summer thunderstorm hit, but soldiered on regardless. Let me know what you think.

As I said before, Total Church, the new book by Steve Timmis and Tim Chester is out now.
Steve is often a man of few words, but he says a few here to let people know what the book is all away. My next post is the more expansive Tim Chester!

BTW – it’s a great book and one by, and for, practitioners. That will be its strong point and its selling point. We’ve had a lot of books talking about church and how to do it in the past couple of years, and these two blokes have been at the coalface for some time. Up there with The Forgotten Ways in my view.
