? Andy Stovell from TCH Sharrow is the best evangelist I have met and has a real passion for the Kurdish asylum seekers who live in Sheffield.? He has a real knack of walking up to people and chatting with them about anything and everything, but he loves sharing the good news about Jesus more than anything else.
He’s decided to? set up a garden – we’re calling it The Garden of Eden -? for Kurdish? asylum seekers.? He and his church? want to make links with more of the? Kurdish community? and give them something to do while many of them hang around waiting to find out if they’re getting turfed out of the country by the British Government.? Only trouble is there are very few gardens in our neck of the …er.. woods.? Allotments are the way to go.? Only trouble is there are very few allotments coming up for lease, and at 32 pounds a year to lease a huge garden? -? on a block bigger than your average house square meterage – you can see why.? There are plenty around that look dormant and dead, testament to people’s desire but lack of ability.
Andy’s going to hit the council? for one if he can, even though people say there is a two year waiting list.? Two years is a long time – especially if you are a Kurd waiting to see if you can get permanent residency, so? if you think about it why not pray that? God would give a mini Garden of? Eden to Andy.? ?

Andy
this is a good idea.
I have a spare hut (transportable) which you could use to store tools etc.
i guess I may be able to put my hands on some garden tools if you get some land.
When you get an allotment get back in touch with me.
New Hope in Leeds (working with alcholics) did a very similar thing to this

Our Fellowship in Lincoln would be interested in helping local Kurds, but are not sure about how to go about it.
Any suggestions. Keep up the good work
